About our director
Margaret Schlink started playing Scottish fiddle about 15 years ago, after many (many!) years playing viola and violin in a variety of ensembles and orchestras. She has attended Scottish fiddle camps and workshops overseas with Scottish musicians Gregor Borland, Douglas Lawrence, Gordon Gunn, Sarah-Jane Summers and Anna-Wendy Stevenson among others, as well as Australian Musicians Catherine Fraser and Chris Duncan. She plays regularly in Trio Fáilte, with Perth-based Scottish fiddler Fiona Davidson and cellist Krista Low, and has played previously with groups Hot Toddy and Twisted Herring.
She currently teaches violin and viola privately to all ages, plays in a string quartet and occasionally still dabbles in orchestral playing! Specialising in adult learners, she has a Masters degree in adult group learning on violin and viola, and has produced a book specifically for beginning adult players.
